One day, during a personal development course, I experienced a strange moment that awakened me from my dream. During a simple exercise, I had to answer the question, “Who are you?”

Silence. I was so blocked by this question that even the mother’s word could not be uttered by my mouth. It was like I should have said, “My name is …” in a language I did not know. I did not know what to say.

To say that I felt embarrassed would be an understatement. I did not have the sense of identity or awareness of things that really matter to me.

Fortunately, after a few more years I focused more on myself, I finally figured out who I am. The truth is that I am a introverted full of life, curious, profound, playful, who today values ​​freedom, fun, health, creativity, family, sincerity and wants to make a difference in people’s lives.

But in my human experience, the identification of my truth has not changed anything. I did not feel happier or stronger. I felt exactly the opposite of these states: frustrated, confused and fearful. Then one day I decided something.

I knew my truth, but I did not own it. I was thinking about who I am and about things that are really important to me, but my habits were the same. Knowing that time passes by me, I decided to start doing more things that were important to me … and to try to be more “me” in everyday life.

I enrolled in dance classes – something I wanted for a long time. I then took measures for my meals and my family. Together with my husband, I decided to leave the city every weekend. Anywhere. Let’s just leave.

Then things started to change for me. I felt like we were moving in the right direction.

So here is what to do to live the life you want:

1. Find out what’s important to you NOW.

For this, he honestly answers the following questions: What do I appreciate most in different areas of my life (family, work, friendship)? What makes me feel alive? What do I feel when time passes too fast?

Analyzing our own regrets can also give us an idea of ​​what matters to us.

2. Learn to appreciate

It’s time to celebrate what you know. Enjoy every little thing that makes you smile on your lips. Because you are the one who succeeds in all these joys.

3. Do something about your dreams

Nothing will be different if you do not make changes. Yes, it’s difficult to get out of the comfort zone … it may even be scary, but what do you think is better: live the same way and be unhappy or risk and have a different approach to life?

It does not matter how big the change is (it may be insignificant) as long as you do it and do not stay locked in the routine. You may need courage sometimes, but I assure you that the benefits will be on the table.
